Keeping sliding doors shut

When I built me cabinets, I spent a lot of time getting my sliding doors just right. They slide really smooth and easy. In fact the slide so damn easy that they slide open when I tow the trailer around my yard.
I need to find a way to keep them closed before we leave for our maiden voyage to Florida in a week. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,

I have no doubt Duck Tape will work. But, I was hoping to find something a little less tacky (pun inteneded).

...the simplest way I can think of offhand is a hook and eye screen door latch or maybe a barrel bolt or even a small wooden wedge stuck between the sliders or you can check with somebody like Austin Hardware, McMaster Carr, Rockleer or one of the other hardware co's...have you gone into your local hardare or box store and just looked around at the variety of latches and such

Well you could drill a small hole through the lower tract and put a removable pin in to hold them closed while traving, then pull the pin when you arrive Simple, and not to tacky....

Hey Tom , how about magnets ?

If ya have an old dead hardrive around , there are 2 magnets inside you can remove very easy. they very strong too. just a smidgen of glue to hold them on. Just a thought. Maybe velcro , you can buy a roll of it at a fabric shop .
Ya'll keep cool.

Hmmm.. the pin idea sounds workable.
Thanks.

Stick those magnets on the back side of the door and they would be effective but not visible

Tom,
I like using cotter pins for stuff like that. Spread the pin a little before you put it in the hole you drilled and it gives it a little tension to keep it in place. Also on the other end is a nice hole to put a small chain or string.

If the doors overlap, you can drill a hole in both doors and put a pin in the two doors. We had sliding glass doors that was like this.

How about laying a dowel in the tracks of the sliders?
Wrap a bit of tape around the dowels to aid in removing them!
It worked in the movies!! (Thomas Crown Affair)

If you have a little up and down play in your doors put a small dowel in the bottum of your track about 1/2 inch from the closed postion, then a small notch in the bottum of your door the notch in the door sets over the dowel when closed when you need to open the door lift the door a 1/4 inch to let it slide open just a thought

I used a finger hole that is lined up through both doors and then used a piece a romex that is bent in a U shape. Just put the U shaped wire through the two holes when closed and ready to travel. I had to put a piece of vinyl hose over the wire to make it fit tight. It is the tiny orange thing in this picture at the middle of the sliders.
