Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

MY boyfriend wants to take 2 bicycles on our next trip. I would rather the bikes not go on the roof of the truck, for many reasons, including that it is a pain in the %^%$ to get them up and down. This photo shows the hitch area. any ingenious ideas/examples of how to get bikes stored here? I really can't imagine them on the back of the teardrop as they have nothing to hook on to.

You can weld a piece of square tubing on the rear and buy a bike rack that swings out of the way so you can access the galley.

Or, the small piece of square on your tongue could be used to mount a bike rack to the front, but it could hinder you from accessing the trunk of the tow vehicle.

Tow bar in the bottom receiver, bike rack in the top receiver...voila!

Just an option.
Folding bikes wouldn't require any special rack if there's enough room in the teardrop or tow vehicle.
They sell bags for them. It's convenient & they won't get grease on things.
They come in single and multiple speeds.

Hmm, some good ideas as always. I forgot about the square in front - that was the receptacle for the older wheel, but we installed the newer heavier one on the side to try and compensate for the sand that is everywhere out here. I almost need to hook the trailer up to look and see what kind of clearances we have. I never thought about folding bikes.

We went with a little bit differant approach. We bought a Swagman Standard 4-Bike Fold Down Towing Rack (2" receiver). It slides into the trucks 2" receiver and acts as an extension so the weight of the bikes are on the truck not the trailer. So it doesn't affect the trailer tongue weight. The penelty is that your towing capability is reduced to 300 lb tongue and 3000 lb tow capacity. We've only used it with two bikes, but haven't had any problems.
