Red Trailer from WalMart

I purchased one of those red trailers from Walmart several years ago.
It is a 5 X 8 trailer with 12" angle iron sides on it and a tilt bed. I am wondering if I could use it as a basis for a 5 x 10 teardrop. Any thoughts?

Welcome up there JD...the short answer is yes(probably) so long as its weight rating is sufficent which it probably is...you may have to remove the side or build something to fit inside the rails. If you build on a sub-frame or go unibody, a 10ft TD is doable on an 8"trailer. Axle placement may need changing to accomodate proper balance...how a pic or two of the trailer...for some more info read the newbies thread in the notices section

Yea,

This sounds like it could be a good chassis for a teardrop or tiny travel trailer. I'd like to hear more about it... but at first blush I would guess that all you need to do is reposition the axle...

Like Madjack sez... you got pics?
