Hey guys I'm fixing to make some sawdust this week and I have question on a window size. So here goes. I'm building a sleeping pod and I have obtained a window 48"long X 26" wide , now my side wall is a 4' X 7'. Will this window be too large? My picture is to scale so let me know what you guys think......112405

It's a little big for my tastes but if you already have the window I say go for it. You can say your tear has a picture window...more to see the view with

A little large for my taste, too, but that is subjective.

Where will the door go? ...or are we seeing the street side? Most couples that start with only one door either add a second one shortly, or wish that they had.

Looks a little close to the arch to me; not a lot of structural strength left at that point. Maybe move it to the right and just a touch down?

Maybe you could sell it to cover the cost of buying a pair of smaller windows, one for each door.

$.02

Park it with the window facing north to avoid sunburns.

Seriously though, I can not camp in my teardrop in the heat of summer because of the lexan see thru roof, Even with a solar blanket over it. Solar gain is a very definate factor to think about ! :sweaty:

The door will be in the rear because this will be a pod to be slid on my existing utility trailer... and I can get the 24"x24" range windows cheap enough. So im not worried about the dollar aspect of it.. and I can move the window wherever it works best . the roof will have spars and it will be insulated

Put it in, it looks great ... ...! If you're a bit on the modest side, sew up some curtains ... ;) ... but big windows help eliminate the claustrophobia factor. Go for it and don't look back ... :D ...!

CHEERS!

Thanks guys for all the comments.. I was more worried about the side-wall flexing more than anything because it will be a single 3/4 ply walls and the roof will have spars and be insulated. I was going to use 2x2 for the spars but since most I have talked to has brought up the wall flex issue that I hadn't thought of, I may just use a 2x3 or 2x4. Hopefully that will help strengthen the wall up. I will epoxy and paint the outside which of course will strengthen the whole thing up anyways
