Well a week goes by and many hours of using a putty knife and sander has lead me to a finish that I really like. The short of it is this. removed old crappy paint, re-primed, sanded some more, wiped down and used a paint simaliar to what Loader found at Lowe's web site. :shake hands:
First here is the paint.
Then the paint on the top.

After your first post I found some aluminum paint on a close out (one hour dry time). Couldn't resist (cheap). What did you use to skin the top with?
Thanks

HVM,

Glad it worked out (well, at least so far). After your first post, I'm thinking of using the A-paint as well. Although I have a bit more building before I'm ready for that.

Let us know how it goes.

Joamon: i used luan as an outside skin then primed with oil based zinsser stain sealer/ primer 2 coats sand between and after. Then tack cloth wipe down. I used a foam roller with the paint but, (helpful note): keep a small sponge brush handy to wipe out air pockets that form then roll over it again.
This paint wasn't as reflective as the other but hey, this paint actually worked.

HUH?
