Undercoating
Posted: Fri Oct 25, 2013 11:16 pmI needed a water barrier between my plywood walls and the cement backerboard for my shower remodel and discovered this stuff called RedGuard.

It goes on easy and forms a tough, waterproof, elastomeric (hard rubber like) surface. It cleans up with soap and water. It seems like it would resist dings from rocks and other stuff.
It's not overly expensive and seems like a good alternative for sealing the bottom of a trailer.
Here is a picture of my shower walls with 4 coats of the stuff on. Overkill in moderation.
The wires are sticking out of the switch box because I discovered (the hard way) that there are 45 volts on the ground wire from the original wiring of the house. I'm in the process of tracing the romex back on its path to the breaker box to discover where the voltage is coming from.
