Bending Plywood

I have worked with the bending plywood a lot and it can for sure be bent into a tight radius. The down side of using bending plywood is, unless you glue two thicknesses together it will wave and ripple and is not very stable. The 1/8 inch regular plywood will bend to a pretty good radius if it is bent with the grain instead against the grain.

Well Jim, sounds like you've got that plywood bending and laminating down pat. That is how I built the 1/2 Nelson Woody, and is solid as a rock. I have even bent and glued together, 2 sheets of 1/8" plywood around a 6" plastic pipe, wrapped with many loops of tightly pulled string. However, the last tear I built has only one layer of 1/8" lauan on the roof, but all surfaces are curved and additional curved stringers run from front to back. No problems so far, and it sure is light-weight.

Roly, what did you do for walls? The roof with 1/8" and curves is what I'm thinking of using..... I'd like to use 1/8 on the wall with solid foam filler.

I plan to use the 1/8 inch plywood on my sides as well as the top. It should be plenty strong with enough glue and staples with the 1X frame.
