How do I match paint to this picture?

My dad was a cropduster and I spent many years on a dusty airstrip loading planes and learning how to fly. My dad passed away in 2004 at the young age of 58 due to colorectal cancer.

As sort of a tribute or memory of my dad, I'd like to paint my TD Air Tractor yellow but don't know how I match the paint at my local Walmart.

Can someone explain the easiest way to do this?

I want to paint it yellow with the blue stripes.

Rustoleum makes two yellows; Sunburst Yellow and Safety Yellow. I used the Sunburst Yellow on my "Super Bee". Walmart and all the other big box stores should carry those colors. Don't forget a good primer. I used Zinsser oil based primer with two coats under three coats of the Rustoleum Sunburst Yellow. Applied with 4" foam roller. I thinned the last coat of Rustoleum by 25% with mineral spirits in order to get a nice sprayed on look without the roller marks.

Also what are mineral spirits? Where do I get them?

I always thought that you had a professional spray paint job on your Super Bee!!! It looks really really good.

You will find a lot of detail in my journal on all my body work including the paint job. My side walls are 3/4" ply and my top and end skins are 1/4" ply over 1X2 spar framing, including the hatch and tailgate. The only luan I used was on the ceiling and insulated floor inside the cabin. Mine weighs about 1,400 lbs loaded but weight was not a factor in my build as I used a 2,000 lb 5X8 NT trailer and my TV is rated at 5,000 lbs.

Mineral spirits is sold in gallon cans at any place you buy paint (Walmart, HD, Lowes, etc.). It is simply a solvent for oil based paints and can be used to thin the paints or clean brushes, etc.

Tractor Supply has Majic tractor paint in four shades of yellow:
School Bus Yellow, John Deere yellow, Caterpillar yellow, and New Holland yellow.

One of those should get you close.

Or you can get a custom mix at an auto parts store.

Take the picture to Paint Mart or any such paint store and they will mix your paint to match as close as they can.

At first I thought you might want a picture of a crop duster? That would be super cool! My nephew used a local (chico) motorsports business for graphics on his race car. Take them a picture and they scan it and print out a self adhesive graphic. They make vehicle wraps of any design and size. The possibilities are limitless.
