Can anyone tell me how these attach to the trailer? Do they go on the bottom of the frame?

I'd fix them to anything solid.
Here is a thread with similar looking lights...well not really

There are 2 brackets for those retro tail lights. That one I believe is made to mount to a fender. The other bracket has a 90 degree bend in it for mounting to the side of the trailer.

Those appear to be the same ones or style sold by Vintek RV Vintage Trailer Supplies, they are listed on ebay I'm sure they can help you with proper mounting orientation. Wood butcher is right they are listed for 37 ford tail lights.

These would work. I found a few places selling ones like it when I was looking for my trailer. They are for 28-32 Ford trucks I think.

Yes ... they mont to the bottom of the frame. Just looked at a trailer this afternoon that had the exact same brackets, with some '32 Ford Tail-lights.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was almost sure that they attached to the frame, but just wasn't sure.

Before you attach your lights to the frame, be sure they meet minimum height from the road to be safe. I don't know what size tires you are using, but I added some LED bulbs and strip lights just under the rear deck to make me more noticeable to drivers behind me.

This is not my trailer. But I knew I had a picture that might help.
