I was wandering around the department store and saw a gallon can of "Storm Coat" deck, fence and siding stain. Says it is water repelant has uv prtection and mildew resistant. Anyone tried this type of finish before with good results?
My tear is going to be all wood on the exterior and light color shade. This stuff is tinted and is resonablly priced. Looks like a one step deal, is this too easy? :worship:

Hornet the key words here might be that its water repellent rather than water proof,, Maybe it my past experience with waterproofing and roofing but if something says repellent then its understood it wil absorbe some water and water proof means just that it dont let water in,,, I really dont know anything about the material you are talking about though,,

G H, think of it this way: when you wash you deck or patio (if made of wood it might have had the same style product on it) it will soak up the water and dry out slowly yikes! the prodlems that would be.
