Gasket on windows
Posted: Tue Jul 08, 2014 10:05 amI just picked up a 14x16" window for my door from VinTek. It came with a gasket glued to the outside flange. Would you guys also seal this with a putty strip, caulk or just use as-is?
I bought my doors from VinTek and they also came with gasket mounted on the outside flange. I called Frank and asked him if I needed the butyl tape or anything else... His answer was nothing additional needed. When you screw the mounting ring to the window or door, the pressure on the gasket makes a waterproof seal.
