Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Thinking of making a water supply system out of 4" PVC. It would be Sch. 40 and about 8 feet should give me 4.75 gal. I would mount it to the bottom of the trailer.
Has anyone tried to supply the water by adding an air valve (tire type) and pressurizing the system to about 60 psig with a tire pump?
As soon as the water press. starts to drop- - - -pump it up a little more.

Thoughts please.

Bob, click on my WWW button to see how we used 4" PVC for a water tank...it is not pressurized but rather we are using a cheapie jc whitney 12V water pump that screws directly into the pipe...the entire unit will also be mounted underneath, between the rear crossmembers...the unit is a little over 7' and will hold about 4.5+ gals...

p.s. the problem with adding air directly to the system. to pump water out, is that everytime you pump air into it, you will be adding contaminates from the pump...the air coming from a tire pump is not clean...unless filtered between the pump and tank...commercial systems that work thataway have a bladder in them that is filled with air and that bladder forces the water out...

Looked at your pics, that's exactly what I had in mind. I wanted to pump up the pressure because I didn't want the expense of a 12v water pump - - they're expensive.
I surfed JC Whitney for a pump and the only thing I could find was a Shurflo 12v pump for $220 - - that's a deal killer for me.

Would you be able to try and find where you got the cheepee and about how cheap?

...try this one ...25 bucks for pump and faucet...cheap enough...don't know how well it'll last but....it is cheap

I got a sureflo off ebay for $50. That is a super idea. I have a 10 gal I'm using onboard in the galley. But that's a great idea for gray water storage to be in compliance with the State parks.

...if you go with 6" in the same length, it will give you almost 10gal of storage capacity...I had thought about it for grey water also...

...click on RV first, then search for waterpumps...a warning...that pump is not self-priming, so it must be at the level of the water or below...

Only kidding, I guess that would pose a problem unless I mount the pump under the trailer also. I assume it could give a "lift" of 24" to the faucet.

originally we were going to mount the pump inside the galley...untill we found out it is not self priming...since the "barb" on the pump is threaded, I think we will just screw the pump into the tank...pumping up to the faucet should be no problem since that is what it's designed for...
