I am wanting to make a countertop that slides out. What type of sliders or hardware are people using to do this?

You can use something like this. Once it pulls out it locks in place. Then you release it to push in.

i need something that doesn't need to attach to the walls. those have to be used on the edges of the counter, i need something that will go underneath it. I used that same thing before to make a sliding laptop computer mount in my patrol car.

How about showing us a picture or drawing of what you want to do. There are some clever people here that could help with more information.

Kitecop,

I have not double checked personally, but I seem to have recollections that you can get sliders to support that weight. If I am correct, maybe someone else has some facts on this.

Thinking u could attach to wall and put a piece of wood under counter top to attach drawer slide to it would be hidden that way

I've been thinking about this for my countertop in the galley when I get that far along in my build. The curve on the back of my trailer is sloped enough that the counterop edge will be several inches forward of the aft floor edge so I would like to bring it out closer to the edge to feel more like a regular countertop.

The link to leevalley.com above didn't work but I dug around there and found this Parson's table fittings. The pictures are small and I wish there were more (or even a video). Was this what you meant to link? http://www.leevalley.com/US/hardware/page.aspx?p=41856&cat=3,43586,43594

This is the kind of mechanism I have been considering but would like to learn more about so I can design for it.

I am using rollers on my build. the rollers are designed yo hold 500lbs each. I roll the hole kitchen out, set the drop down legs or crutch, and then lock it into place.
