Postby nightmoves44 » Mon Jan 02, 2006 10:28 am

Ok folks,Newbie here. This is my first real post ( woo hoo!). :dancing I needs some input on 60 wide sheet(alum.) I work in in steel whse.,but we don't stock ,or can get .032/.040x 60x120. although we do have .063 type 3003,but I want to avoid useing that heavy of material. I don't think it will cooperate with me that well.I am planning on scooting the old Impala over & startin my project this winter/spring as a 5x10.Any suggestions on the sheet supplier?

NM44...welcome to our little board of obsessed builders and parttime maniacs...I am glad you finally came outta your self imposed lurker closet(as it were) :D ...clearly you have an addiction and this is the place to feed it (lots of enablers here) ;) ...alotta folks have used Al sheet in the .060 range for there tops with no problems...we found 5x10 .032/.040 from SS and Al Specialties in Lafayette La. They are a division of Reliance Metals, a nationwide distributor, so your Co. might be able to order from them. SAF Metals in hot'lanta is another option as is an 18 wheeler trailer manufacturer/repair shop...they have Al in a 102 in wide roll that can be cut to length.
Remember that the cost of advice here is not free...we want pics of your work...cause we luv da pics :D  ;)
