Hey Everyone!

The only name I can somewhat come up with is Pan Head Security Barrel Nut...it could be the bolt but the reverse side looks like a Kep Bolt?? or maybe that's the barrel nut?

Has anyone used these or know where I can acquire them?

Thanks in advance!

McMaster-Carr lists them as "Binding Posts for Door Hardware". They only list them with a Phillips FH screw, but that could easily be swapped out for whatever like size bolt you want. They're available in various materials including SS and several brass finishes. If you select "View Catalog Page" in the upper right corner of this link, you can see the other sizes and materials: http://www.mcmaster.com/#93544a755/=z9qtvl

I found them by searching for barrel nuts: http://www.mcmaster.com/#barrel-nuts/=z9qux1

They're also called Chicago bolts or sex bolts.

BTW - if you're going to use aluminum trim that has a vinyl insert, you can use pop rivets to attached the trim. The rivet head is on the bottom. The compression end of the rivet is covered with vinyl trim. I got the idea from Grant Whipp. That is how he built his teardrops. I don't have any pictures of my teardrop but here is sketch of the detail that Grant drew:

Was thinkuig of using one of these attachment methods
Originaly i was looking at riveting from behind but im dubious about wether the rivets will pull tbrough the canvas and 3mm ply.
I intend to glue the trim on as well.
Anyone tried this?
