long ago I cut out the doors from the original trailer side. I cut it with a dremel. It has irregular sides no corner is square. no side is flat edged.

I thought of making an "X" from corner to corner so it would stay as close to the edge as possible. so I could keep the distance from the center to the edge the same for each for left and right top lines this would give me a straight line for the top. then doing the same for the bottom, then the going to the sides the same way. I know this is hard to understand.

So how do you make sure they are square and flat? remember not two sides are flat and no corner is square!
i could add a pc of square wood to one side and edge and work from there too.

and no I have not been drinking.

could sand it down but i am thinking with this method I can cut it on the table saw.

Screw the door to a straight piece of wood (temporary) and use that as a guide on your table saw to cut the opposite side of the door straight and true. Then remove the temporary piece, flip the door around and skim cut the other side. That will give you two straight parallel edges.

A panel sled would be best for the cross cuts. If you don't have a big panel sled for your saw (neither do I) it might be better to layout 90 degrees with a framing square, or the 3-4-5 triangle method, and use a straight edge and circular saw to do the cross cuts. This all assumes that you have enough material there to trim everything true and still have proper door gaps.

Not sure I can picture it but I guess you want to cut the door to match the opening. Could you affix an oversized piece of plywood to the opening and scribe it to match? Then you could cut out the door and plane or sand the edges straight and give the desired gap. Make sure you mark the plywood where the top and inside surfaces are.
