Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hello, newbie here.

Looking at foamie as my vehicle has max tow capacity of 1,000 and single dad with limited funds. Trying to find cheap window options and was wondering if you could frame these and use them in a teardrop foamie?

Have you looked at the wylie's windows that you would put together yourself.
They can be open in the rain.
Low cost.
If mounted in the door and open, wouldn't hit the side on the camper when door is fully open.
Window opening can be used for fan,heater or AC.

I have two three pane jalousie windows similar to the shed window. I love them but my trailer is not a fomie. They have a flange around the perimeter that screws to wood. I drilled a couple of extra holes on the flange because it is a moving trailer.

Nothing quite says camping trailer than jalousie windows.

A block window seems an obvious disaster, plus it won't open.

That basement window is also a non opening window. I could not quite get it until I read it has a screen with removable glass. IOW, it needs taken apart to get the glass out.

Most of the opening basement windows are hopper windows similar to a Wiley with a real opening mechanism.

Not only is that glass block going to be heavy, it's also 3" thick. I think most of the foaministas are building with either 1.5" or 2" foam, so there will be some additional framing to make it work.

^^What he said. I've got a couple on mine as well - they are a cheap and easy way to get lots of light and ventilation. Being on a pretty tight budget myself, I got mine from an old (free) camper I scrapped out. I cleaned them up and sanded them, then etched and painted them. The whole camper cost me $60 in tipping fees, so they were pretty cheap.
I also got appliances and all those little odds and ends that add up after a while.

You can't beat wiley windows for cost, function, and ease of use. Find a size of plexiglass that is stocked and build to that dimension. Then if the pane gets scratched or lost you can just drop another in.
