Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

So the driveway is full of snow and ice and the garage floor has a floor drain. Where can I find a nice, level spot to assemble my trailer bed? A large area that is flat and preferably warm. I know, the living room.

So I told my wife I need a flat surface to assemble the bed of the trailer and that I would be so kind as to lay a tarp over the carpeting and put the compressor (for the impact wrench) outside the front door. She says "what do I care. In the past I've had airplane wings hanging on my walls for months and you built the sails and the rigging for the sailboat in there. Go ahead."

What a woman.

Wow! Can I come live with you. My wife gets mad if I leave my underwear in the living room (and they are as big as a sail!).

Don't press your luck and leave it in there too long....I find my wife has a natural tendency to drape a sheet over such things and call them a coffee table.

We put ours together in the livingroom. Once it was done we folded it up and rolled it out the door.

Had a similar experience last winter. After being bit by the TD Bug. My daughter and I began the Cubby in our basement family room. My wife did not want to give up her garage space. I thought it would be temporary.

Well, just could not decide what frame to use... and kept on building and building. By summer we were 90% complete. If it wasn't for 8 of my strongest friends, I believe the TD would had to convey with the house if we ever sold.

Just watch the weight before you move it this Spring.

I've been building mine in a commercial space that only has a 36" wide door. I own a retail building, and have been re-modeling it, so many of my wood working tools were being used there. I have one space that hasen't rented yet, so I am using it as my TD shop. I only have a small 1 car garage at home, and it is full of junk, so I am pre-fabbing all of the parts that I can in my rental, then will assemble it outside when they are done (or when I find a tennant and have to move it out).

I get a lot of funny looks when prople see the trailer inside and can't figure out how I got it in there (or how I'm going to get it out).

could you wait untill a warmer month?
do the little stuff like buy the supplies, or have here design the interior she'll be like my wife and have the material allover the living room with out even asking it is ok with me.
Is the trailler put to gether you said it was an HF? could you then do it on the trailer?? after all that is where it will live.

BUILD INSIDE THE HOUSE??? Not on your life...she'd kill me. I have a carport with a flat floor large enough to construct the frame and sides. But like Larry, my wife doesn't want to have her car outside (it's ok to keep my truck outside though). But, she has agreed to let me use it for a couple of weeks. Then, once it is movable, it will be moved to the 10' x 20' canopy in back of the house where my boat is usually kept. That's where I'll finish it. Luckily, we have no snow, and relatively little cold to contend with here in central FL. In fact, the AC is on right now. It's in the 80s outside.
