Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Our tear is looking like the tear in this picture. My question is, will the counter top be what our skin is fastened to? If it is, should the skin (aluminum) be bent into the notch and the counter top so the hatch will over lap the skin in this area? I guess I am asking does the hatch fit inside the notch at the bottom?

You should find someone in your area that has a CampInn teardrop and ask them if you can stop by and look at it up close and personal.

On the Camp-Inns we bend the rear rollpan skin in about 1.25" and then up a half inch. The countertop then sits over that and overhangs that edge a tad bit. That creates a splash area that if water where sprayed in the hatch gap it would be stopped under the lip of the counter and run back off the rear rollpan skin. The hatch frame stops above the countertop and there is a flange that hangs past to cover the area in question when the hatch is closed. The flange is basically the aluminum hatch skin hemmed over a piece of 1/8" panneling then attached to the bottom of the hatch frame. A rubber seal goes over that to keep dust from getting sucked in the galley.
