Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I have noticed that a lot(few) of you float the outer skin rather than gluing it down. I have used fibreglass sheeting and have noticed a couple of bubbles occur in extreme heat situations. Would floating negate this problem? If so, how much room do you leave on the edges to allow for expansion?

Paul, my sidess are .040 and move about 1/8". I over trimed them by 3/16"

I didn't trim mine as much as Gage but haven't had any problems. When you think about it there isn't that much to float. Besides the outer molding containing the aluminum also the door molding, bolt on fenders and on my trailer the drip (J-molding) screwed on over the doors and radio antenna also hold the skin in place. The roof skin isn't moving anywhere because of the radius.
