I was just looking thru the local paper, noticed a 14' shasta for sale.

not much details , probably 1970's by the price.

Has anyone started with something like this, deconstructed it to the frame, and rebuilt into a T&TTT? hopefully using a lot of donor material?

or am i crazy?

thanks 8)

What does being crazy have to do with it?!? If that was the criteria for deciding what to do on a tear, most of us whould have never started. Crazy is good! :?

Gage started with a Scottsman so it's a proven concept to start with a trailer.

Michael-

Yep, using a donor frame has been done more than a few times!

Just take care necessary:

-Strip the frame well enough to inspect for stress cracks, etc.

-Prime & paint.

-Upgrade lighting if necessary.

-New Tires.

-Inspect, repack or replace bearings & seals.

-Inspect, repair or replace brakes (if it has brakes).

-You might want to clean, paint, grease & rebush leaf springs.

-Make sure your coupler/safety chains & jacks are in good condition & function properly.

By the time you do all of this it may (depending on the size trailer you wish to build) be cheaper to buy a new trailer frame?

Just my thoughts...

Cheers,
