Learned Something Interesting About Corplast Tonight

I was talking to a good friend of mine tonight who is in the printing business. I asked if he printed signs on corplast and when he said they did, I asked about the possibility of obtaining some through him for the headliner in the upcoming tear. Well, when he heard the aplication I had in mind, he told me the stuff is available in COLORS. I have never seen any around but white. So now I am planning a very washable ivory headliner made from corplast. I have two young sons who will be sleeping in bunks pretty close to the ceiling and washable is important. Just thought I would share the discovery. So is seems if you are looking for corplast, you just need to find a cooperative printing shop.

Don't these guys use it to print outdoor signs? Like campaign signs that stick in the ground? Is that the stuff we're talking about?

I work with printers, so this may be interesting for my side-tent idea.

If you look upper left corner of the photo you can see my coroplast RC airplane that I fly. The stuff is virtually indestructable.

I find my local signmaker is happy to sell me sheets of colours that he has in stock - ordering in a custom colour might be asking too much. My guess is that I may pay him four times what the Coroplast cost him, but we're both happy with the deal! It is not expensive stuff.

Problem is, their minimum order is like 10. I don't want white, And I need more than 2.

you can get the flutes to run 8' or run 4'. most of the stuff I woked with has the 4' flutes.

hey Spad are you still planing a coro tear? I noticed you have ply sides. Are you going to skin it in coro?

other uses for coroplast are: to cover up the glass fireplace doors to keep a 1 year old out. a replacement glass top for our coffee table after the boy set a rock on the glass and broke it. makes for a nice baby gate to keep the kids away from the aquarium and radio. yes my living room is covered with purple and orange coroplast.
but this summer I am going to use this coro to make a 2x4 mini tear for the boy to pull behind his pedal car. He wants his own tear.

Steve's right, the piece you are referring to would have the corrugation tubes running the 96" length.

I have bought the opaque white coro sheets from FarmTek that was the 96" way, so I recieved a 96" long rolled up tube.

I believe it would be easier to form to a TD ceiling with the tubes running the 48" way?

If worst comes to worst paint the coro with these new spray can paints formulated for plastics?

I don't know, I just feel like POOP for sending ya on a wild goose chase!

So this is where I'm confused with ordering this online:

So regardless of the flute, can they ALL be rolled up? Even the thickest stuff? I guess I should check myself, but you know me.

I ask because I want the thickest stuff to use for that side enclosure idea I have in my head, but I know that shipping flat 4 by 8 sheets will cost a fortune.

Hey Trail....yes and no.... I am going to skin the roof and ceiling with coro and paint the sides. I will use 2 mil inside and 4 mil out side. We have a local supplier of the stuff so i can get it a whole sale prices.


Hey Ira you can't roll the stuf with out damaging it's appearance. It will go around curves though. I'll see it I can't take a photo of how I am going to do mine to give an example.

sounds good spad. keep us posted how that works out. I think I am going to have to build a BHOR soon so my boy can fly it (I will give him a controller with out the battery so he thinks he is doing it) he keeps looking at my Superstar and telling me we need to go fly it, but it has just been too windy for it lately. I'm still learning so a spad would be a good crash plane.

I lost orientation on one and flew it through a tree top. The only damage was a broken prop!!

Here is a photo of how the Coro will look on the trailer. The "flutes" will run horizontally allowing it to bend around the corners. The sheets of Coro I buy have the flutes running in the 96" direction.
