Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I was recently at the Woodworking show in Atlanta and one of the vendors was selling this aluminiun repair rod. He claimed you can rpair boats, engine heads, motor housings, pipe, radiatorsdoors, windows, and plumbing-just to name a few. I am wondering if anyone has used it for anything? I am wondering about its use in making a built in ice chest.
Anyone ever heard of this stuff?

Yes I saw this at a show some 5 years ago and got the vendor to give me a rod.
Tried it by welding two pieces of aluminum together and left it out side for a year. The weld to the aluminum failed. The aluminum next to the filler rod turned it to a white powder. I did the same thing to two identical pieces of aluminum that was heli-arced (spelling) together. There was no degrading of that weld. Both welded parts where left out side at the same time. I think the heli-arced weld would be stronger. I had no way to do a pull test on them.

Through work, I exhibit in a lot of trade shows, both NA and Europe. You see a lot of these guys that do the demonstrations and tell you what a miraculous product they have. It is the revolutionary new Duct Tape.
I've purchased some of the products and they seem to do what they say, initially. But most of these products do not stand up to the test of time.
That is why many of these products make it to the demo circuit and do not likely find there way to hardware store shelves and they all eventually fail. And there is no one to be held liable. Liability is the #1 concern of the introduction of any new product.
