It's 13 degrees out but just like the mail man, I ain't gonna let a little weather stop me. I installed the second piece of birch for the ceiling this afternoon. All I can say is thank God for trim. I got more gaps then a hillbillys dentures. I used a 2X2 dead man to hold the panel in place while I glued and nailed it up. I also ran a couple screws through where the vent will be cutout into a piece of scrap to squeeze the ceiling down good around the vent framing. I hope to finish up my tongue box this weekend and run some more wiring. Then I can put some insulation in.

Hope all the Floridians are enjoying the sunshine cause the rest of us are just plane cold. :snowstorm:

Hey Scott,

Thanks for the picture! I'm planning on installing my ceiling first thing in the morning and wasn't quite sure how I was going to hold it in place while I nailed it. Now I know!

I've cut the ceiling panels and am waiting for the first coat of finish to dry before I head out and spray another coat. I'll have the remaining coats on before I head off to bed this evening. This afternoon I bought the wood to build the bulkhead between the cabin and the galley. I'm hoping that this will be a very productive weekend!

Scott,

Looks good, you've got a lot of heart to do that in the temps you have. Don't know about the wiring though, don't the insulation break off the wire at those temps? :? Know my hands would be breaking!

Keep up the good work, you'll be ready to start that epoxy/fiberglassing soon.

Looking good, 13 degrees, better you than me. It was about 60 here today and I was able to get the skin on the outside.

Kepp up the good work.

Yep, when installing the ceiling by yourself, you have to improvise. Watch out for the glue.

Enjoying it is right Scott!! 8)

It was a beautiful day here, almost hot. I put the finish coat of poly on the outside of the tear and got one of the fenders on. We have a Nor Easter coming in tomorrow, supposed to get cold again, High temp tomorrow about 50 or so.... ;)

I've haven't missed snow and sleet since I went to Florida on vacation almost 9 years ago and never left. Hang in there, Spring is just around the corner.

Steve,
I have to laugh reading that post. I always tell my wife that if I ever get to southern California I'm never coming back. I may need to include the northern half if we get to the redwoods this year as planned. It looks pretty nice too.
