Hello,
I'm building a 5X8 teardrop camper on a 5X8 northern tool trailer. The sides I cut from a template came out 1/4 inch short. I've not het constructed the deck on the trailer. Should I shorten the deck to accommodate or should I leave the deck length 96" and somehow add a filler/trim to the front crosss piece of the trailer?
Thx,
Scott

If I were to use a filler piece to make up the 1/4", it would be at the back, not the front.
The front of a trailer gets pounded by all the debris kicked up by the tow vehicle, and gets blasted by road spray in wet conditions.
My personal approach would be to use the filler at the back. There, the exposure to road spray is more 'passive', and the air turbulence less violent.

Build deck to fit sides and save the fussy work to gain 1/4" imho.

Thx all!! appreciate the feedback. I will shorten the deck 1/4, 1/8 on front and rear and bolt to the trailer accordingly

If you cab sits atop NT frame, wouldnt seem to matter if the frame projected 1/8". Or all in front and mask with a tongue box. Or put a piece of 1/4" checker plate to protect from stones and such.
