Teardrop windows

Help!
In am in the process of construction a very lightweight teardrop with an aluminium chassis etc. Although some items have taken a while to get sorted out, progress is good. I will post some pictures of the construction later.

But one item is leaving me a bit lost at the moment.

The windows used in the Little Guy teardrop trailer is what I need. I don't want to put the usual door in my TD. Does any one know where the Little Guy windows are made or a simular design of window.

They need to be able to lock on the inside and outside and have the option to open the window for ventilation.
By the way, I am in the UK just to make things a little bit more difficult!
Thanks Brian

Hi Brian and welcome. Most RV/ caravan suppliers will be able to supply the style of windows that most use in their TD's. Unless it's something special, that's where I would look. A European company called Fiamma do a good range of windows, a bit pricey in some cases but good quality.
Cheers
Paul

S2Escargot,

Welcome to the forum. I know the kind of window you are looking for. I don't know about suppliers in the UK though. Perhaps Andrew does... He's over there at the east end of Hadrian's Wall.

Or if you have a friend over here in the US you could import it, as a gift of course...

Mike...

Brian,

I think your chance of finding US-style windows in Britain are low. The two places I suggest you should look are suppliers to motorhome converters (many also sell to the public) and suppliers of horse transporter parts. I've searched every UK bookmark I've got to find the big supplier of parts for horse lorries, but I can't find it!

Andrew

Ok I found it...

Tha Company Name is Caralu Bv and the website is..
www.caralu.nl and the english page is http://www.caralu.nl/index.php/language ... 85bc943c93

Telephone is: +31 (0) 499 - 395142
Fax is: +31 (0) 499 395133

Email - [email protected]
[email protected]

Speak or write to Mr. Berrie Wijnands

The Catalog they sent us is like a hard covered book. Brian check this:

http://www.caralu.nl/index.php/cPath/83_85_86

They have everything from Aluminum, Profiles, RV Parts and entry doors... locks, Diamond PLate..and the list goes on..

And the windows that you may be looking for... As well as The Fan-Tastic Vent...which I ordered from the USA instead and still came ahead by a long shot than buying from here...

I hope this helps.. Berrie is quite a nice man to deal with also...

Hope you find somthing there that can help with your build...Im not sure they have anything like the Lil Guy Trailers Use for Doors or Windows.
But this place has a huge variety of things..I also know how difficult to
find the parts here as they use in the States... I do know someone in England and Germany has a Lil Guy Dealership that could possibly get them for you but the cost????

Best wishes
Classic Finn

Wow, thanks for the great replys.
I am in the Smart club (Hence the reason for a very lightweight TD) in the UK and its great to see another community that tries to help everyone. :applause:

I have been to a manufacturer of windows who was brilliant and realy helpful. He can do exactly what I want in the way of a pair of doors/windows.
But! The cost......................

He has given a lead time of 6 weeks and a price of £858 ($1450) for the pair. Ouch

Hence the reason for asking about the Little Guy windows.

Thanks for you hard work sofar and I will let you all know of the outcome.
Brian
