Rain Proofing End of Hurricane Hinge

I need a few final coats of paint on my 8-ft Cubby's fenders and I will be done except for doing something about the ends of the Hurricane hinge. I can't see how to keep rain (particularly run-off from the roof) from entering the galley there. What has worked for others?

John,
most people just leave part of the hinge long(past the sides of the tear) to divert water away from the galley. You could add just a piece of alum angle to make these rain diverters, if the hinge has been cut flush with the sides.
I don't have rain diverters on mine haven't seen rain since I completed the thing in July.

..as ToT sez and you can also put a piece of 1"X 1/4 weather strip between the hinge halves to fill that gap............. 8)

Per the Kuffel Creek plans, I fabricated these rain diverters out of angle aluminum. The grey stuff is J.B. Weld used to seal between the hatch and the diverters.
