Hurricane Hinge Install Question

Postby Capebuild » Thu Apr 21, 2022 1:19 pm

Installing the hurricane hinge on the hatch. I had planned on screwing the hinge flange on the inside edge of hatch.
I'm wondering (asking) if there should also be a row of screws holding it from the outside surface.... holding that exterior
flange up against the aluminum sheet surface.

Thank you for the help.

Well,….. I just had a gut feeling there should be screws on that out side flange as well
Then after taking a look in Tony’s book, he suggests that also. Seems good to me. :)

That's what we did. Used Butyl tape along the hinge. So far it's worked great.
