Is sealant/adhesive a good idea here?

I’m installing a Nocco AC port plug for shore power. It comes with a gasket and is attAched to the aluminum side wall with 3 screws. Do you rely just on the gasket from keeping water out or is it a good idea to put sealant somewhere (like between gasket and aluminum)?

Stuff like this can be hit or miss, I small bead of silicon is easy insurance.

Thanks Jasen. After I posted that I realized I had this 3M adhesive which I had used on some other items.
So...I used this adhesive between the gasket and the aluminum.

If you use adhesive and you ever need to remove or replace the piece, it will be more difficult and you may damage the surface it's glued to.

I'd use sealant or a gasket, something removable since it looks like it has holes for bolts to mechanically hold it in place.

I made custom silicone gaskets for most of my entry points. Easy to do, are very good at sealing and remove from the wall and glands with no trouble. If you see yourself doing routine maintenance, like I do with my woodie, the easily removed gaskets are a benefit.
