Figured it was time to give mine it's own thread here.

First, we have the template I made off of Mike's XY grid. (2 hours)

Image

Did some estimations and figured the steel design would be very light for my purposes. Went and picked this up last monday. (one hour to steel supply and back)

Image

By lunch last monday I had one frame tacked and removed from the template. (3 hours) (First mistake, removing from the template before final welding was done, Have a couple of minor warping issues from the welding.)

Image

Spent the afternoon working on the other side and had this done by 5 or so. (3 hours) (at this point the sides were clamped, not welded to each other)

Image

This was about lunchtime tuesday, Everything tacked, waiting for final welding. (3 hours)

Image

Nothing much has changed in since then, final welding is done, and I'm dealing with the warping issues)

Image

All in all, I'm really happy with the way it's turned out, I figure that I' shouldn't have any trouble criss-crossing the country in this setup.

My dry weight will be just under 300 lbs, Loaded and underway under 500lbs.

Fedex should be bringing my tires and coupler tommorrow, I'll finish off the undercarraige and start the skin. I'll be out in the backyard wednesday night :)

See here, it's about time. This deserves it's own space. That is amazing. Watched the build and can't believer how fast and light.

Good Job.

I forgot to mention the best part.

I'll be done for $400. Would be $600 if I didn't have the axle on hand.

Need to go pickup some drill bits in the morning. Should be the last piece of the puzzle. Considering this may be doubling as an enclosed cargo trailer in less than a month, I'm happy with my decision to build it.

WOW!

And it's amazing how that profile missed every knothole in that piece of ply.

Sorry for forgetting about this thread.

Got distracted (& a job offer out of state) and everything kinda got sidelined.

I'm up in Baltimore now, Everything besides my car and clothes is still in Dallas. Sadly, it's probably going to get put into storage in Texas and I'll get back to it whenever I can (Probably be awhile). Everything has been crazt enough that I'd forgetten that I had even started the project.
