I found an exterior paint from tractor supply called Fence pro that is like 46 bucks for 5 gallons. Is there any reason this wouldn’t work as well as oopsie paint for pmf?

Just over $9 a gallon sounds tempting, but, is it worth it? Personally I would take the time to search for a brand name opps paint in gallons or five gallons (rare find) and use that as a base. Then purchase a custom mixed color of good quality exterior to finish off.

Unless you are building a very large trailer I doubt you'll use five gallons. I think my past two foamies (5x8 and 4x8 roof and wall coverage) used less than two gallons of opps exterior latex.

My first build and the one I'm currently building, the cheapest maintenance interior/exterior paint in the 5 gallon pail was used. I then top coated it with dutch boy porch/ floor paint. It's been in freezing rain, snow and freezing road spray. Then power washed with the nozzle inches away and zero peeling. My understanding is it must be latex paint.

Canvas and paint has also been used over wood for over a century on boats. Over wood, I would use oil paint, though latex works ok too. Over foam; definitely latex.
