Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I am considering biulding a teardrop using the plans provided here. I would like to hear thoughts on this. I have a few already, I will share some.
1. I would have to need the 5 x 8 from tsc. I have family employed by this firm.
2. Does one lay the 1 x 2's down or stand them up. I would prefer to use treated here, along with a more beefy 2 x 4 or 6 material.
3. There are no instructions for the exterior roof.
4. I need to figure our a better way to get the wires from the front to the rear
I welcome any and all thoughts and comments on this.

Tom, you made a great choice of the Benroy, tear. If I were starting over again, I would for sure go with the Benroy design.
I used 2X2s with 1/2 plywood for my floor frame with a 2X4 center support, it is very sturdy. You can do some reading here in some of the past threads and find all the information you will need about every step of your build. These fellows and ladies are just the best and have soooo much knowledge and are willing to share it with all of us rookies. We are happy to have you with us. By the way, do you live in Miss?

Hi Tom,

1) The 5x8 is perfect... you would probably build on top of the frame, rather than hiding the frame.

2) The 1x2 are meant to be laid down. They are there the give your screws something to screw into... Many people use 2x2 instead of 1x2. Either way is fine.

3) Well, I'll add a paragraph for that... in the meantime, the roof goes on the same way as the hatch skin (see page 59). But you could also use tie straps to glue your roof on... Thanks for catching this!

4) Currently the wires are run underneath the trailer, alongside the frame. I've also seen the wires run inside the 2x2 tubing. What do you have in mind?

Thanks for the replies. I do live in Mississippi. My thoughs on the wire are to run it in conduit, maybe under the trailer, although I like the idea of inside the metal tubing of the trailer. If I set the walls on the trailer that would be good, so they rested on the frame instead of on the screws. Moisture does worry me making sure there is no wicking into the wood. Do you know how long the outside roof piece would be?would you aseemble in in a strip like the inside or piece by piece? does it overhang the sides ot the other way? I'm also thinking about turning the good side out to make it a woodie and painting the inside with a blue roof with clouds and the sides painted by my wife to represent trees and maybe a log cabin or something.
