I am about to order my windows. Which window is preferred and why?
Square w/Sliding Glass
Square Crank Out
Radius w/Sliding Glass
Is there a radius with Crank Out Window?
Thanks!

...we have a 15x24 slider...black frame/smoked glass and I think it will look real cool when installed...if I did it again I would put the windo lower in the door or mount it vertically so as to get more breeze lower to the mattress...many like crankouts for this reason and because they ar not as susceptible to rain entry but a drip rail or awning can fix most of that problem...the bottom line is one that opens and that YOU like

The crank out window is authentic vintage teardrop. And the biggest advantage of a crank out window is you can leave it open when it rains.
We put a 36" wide crank out window on the drivers side of the Lil Diner.
The biggest disadvantage of a crank out window is that it'll scratch up your sides. Our first Benroy had crank outs, and both sides were getting scratched up because with the window open, the corner of the window would hit the sides when you opened the door too far. Some people put straps on their doors to keep that from happening.
We opted to use a radiused slider in the door on the Lil Diner...

Does anyone know of a radius cornered crank out window?
It seems all the crank outs are square and the radius corners are sliders!

Hehr make both radius vertical sliders (5900 models) and a radius crank out (torque) (8700 models). I am going with one of these myself but haven't decided which yet. Price was comparable. The most affordable place I found for them is from buccaneer manufacturing. For the exact same windows all supplied by Hehr there was quite a price difference. A very large difference All-Rite quoted me a price of over $700 for the exact same windows plus $30 for crating and $23 for shipping. I was floored!!!
If you wanted to go with horizontal sliders I would go with Redneck Trailers a 12x24 slider was around $60 a piece (they also have a 12x18 as well as some larger). A word of caution though, don't order these windows and turn them on their side they will leek and the latches that hold the window open and closed will not work when turned on its side!
I have spent more time researching doors and windows than I have spent designing and building the whole rest of my TD.
The specific Hehr models I am looking at are the Torque (crank out) model 8756 and the vertical slider model 5990.

P.S. I have received so much great advise on this forum I hope that with my limited experience that I can help others.

...we used the 15x24 sliders from RedNeck...SteveH used them vertically and drilled new weep holes in them and has not reported any problems with them...
