Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

hello everyone,
i read on this board once, that there were no original ideas,
sometime in march, i posted aout a roof rack i had built,
(for the fish)
i built it all out of 3/4" copper pipe,
(because i cant weld)

well, was that an original idea or not ?


OK, today i'm working on my tiller,
(trying to get it started)
laid my hand on top of the muffler sheild,
wasnt a bad burn, hardly even got red,
but it was uncomfortable,
i was in the process of spraying carb cleaner at the time
and shot it all over the burned area,
(half the palm of my hand)
immediately felt a lot better,
waited a few seconds and sprayed it again,
i couldnt believe it, it worked really well,

was this an original idea ?

Say George, you say you are interested in vintage Glasspars. Was that a Lido that I saw in one of your pictures some time back? I happen to have a '59 Del Mar. You don't happen to have a G3, do you?

George - if that carb cleaner is anything like starting fluid (ether or something highly flammable) it may feel cool at first but it will dry your skin out like never before. I sprayed my hands with ether once to clean grease off before playing volleyball. First ball I tried to return, my ring finger and pinkie on my right hand split wide open - to the bone in one place! Be sure to put lots of good lotion on later.
Gage = speaking of your DelMar - have you done anything with it yet? I was looking at some old 'glass boats in a field near the marina the other day and started wondering about yours.

Haven't done all that much. The weather has been to cold and windy. Did get all the carpet riped up and am ready to cut a hole in the forward floor board so I can add some glass to the hall up front where water was seeping thru. Got most of the unfunctional hardware off that the previous owner had added. Would like to raise the boat off the trailer, but just haven't figured out how I'm going to do that yet.

i have a 63 seafair sedan with 74 horse evinrude,
i'm the 2nd owner, its a great boat,
glasspars have remarkable hull design,
i start tear down / rebuild of lower unit tomorrow,
(possible clutch problem)
btw, i also have a 63 citation hull that i would like to give away,
i want the gator trailer for a teardrop,
or if someone might want the hull and trailer i would sell

hijack not a problem,
and yes the carb cleaner does have a drying effect
but when youre burnt who cares,
it works, and its immediate relief,
so is it an original idea ?
and is the copper pipe roof rack an original idea ?

George,
I think the relief you felt was the cooling effect caused by the evaporation of the chemicals/solvents in the carb cleaner. It essentially drew some of the heat out of your skin. I would think cold water might have been safer and wouldn't have the drying effect of the carb cleaner.
