Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I got my aluminum today and am going to start skinning it. Heres some pics of the c channel and t moulding I'll be using for the door.
So heres my idea I was thinking of leaving a 1/2" gap around the whole door as pictured ten use this weatherstripping in the gap compressing the 3/4" side toward the outide side of the door trim It will work sort of like the weatherstripping on your car works. This would allow the door to be flush with the sides. I'll be using this heavy duty hinge so I don't think it would sag. What do ya'll think?
Anybody done it like this? Think it would work? any comments good or bad welcome.

What are the dimensions on those extrusions? I just bought some 1/8in angle and 1/8in T-molding for the doors and trim. After they handed me the 1/8in I was wondering if it would be too thick. They looked like they would be to thick to bend but after annealing the T-molding, I was able to bend it without any buckling. Now I have to trim my doors for extra clearance.

Steve, I bought those same hinges from Austin Hardware. Let me know how they work for you.

The c channel is 1 3/4" x 1" X 1/8" The 1 1/2" wall fits perfect in the C
The T is 2"x 2" x 1/8" I don't have any curves in the door, I'm going to miter and then round the corners.
