I am thinking on using 3/4"MDO plywood for the walls.I understand its used for highway signs so it must have some water resistance.I think with a good ext oil primer and paint it should stand up pretty good.Has anyone had any experience with this.Also any thoughts on using driveway sealer to undercoat the floor.

I am building sandwich construction walls using 1/2" MDO. I seems to be working well. I was also able to get it in 4' x 10' sheets so my sides are seamless. I have had a little warpage in the galley area, but not much.

I also used roof coating under the floor. I seems to be the proven method.

Greg55....I've used a lot of the MDO in the sign industry...it is made for exterior use and will hold up well for you...however...make sure you seal all the edges well to stop water penetration...the glue will hold, but open wood will wick water in...the big plus to MDO is that it gives you a great surface to apply graphics/paint to...sprays up really nice and is already primed for you...I think it's a great choice.... :thumbsup:

and a heads up to some that might not know about it...MDO is medium density overlay...not to be confused with MDF medium density fiberboard...and Home Depot doesn't typically have MDO on hand...need to go to a regular lumber yard type outlet, or sign industry supplier...Doug

I can't remember the thickness available right now Tom. :thinking:

..I mostly used 1/2" for construction site signs...you're going to have to call around...Doug

The place I got mine had 1/2", 3/4" one & two sided & 3/8" two sided.

The 1/2" came in 4' X 8" or 4' X 10' sheets.
