The key to an unhappy marriage:

Excuse me while I pause to wipe a tear from my eye:

Not a tear of sadness because of the friction these fenders have caused between my wife and I.

But a tear of HAPPINESS because the damn things are finally done.

And it's going to give me great pleasure screwing 5 holes into each of them.

I have a confession to make:

I couldn't get the side trim to stay down with just glue, so there are a few brown finishing nails in there that I Photoshopped out.

I'm so ashamed--please don't kick me out of the club.

Very nice Ira. Now why is it you can make these and gave up on mitering?
Shows real imagination.

Ira,

That is indeed great work - I can't wait to see them bolted/screwed on!

You can't ever go wrong with some fishnets.......

Ira, your'e not going to drive down the road with those installed are you?
the road grime, oil, and other crap from the road bed will ruin those very quickly! I'd make them to be placed over the real fenders when your'e camping. They are way too nice for everyday over the road.
Nice job!

Thanks for the nice words, guys, and to address some of your comments:

Steve--I've worked with Photoshop for years, and God bless the clone tool.

Miriam--I didn't have to make any miter cuts on these fenders. Miters frighten me.

Chip--Running lights? And any issues to keeping it from getting on the road? Just two small issues--those running lights, and a little thing like a GALLEY. (I cut, stained and varnished my countertop last week, fitted the sink, so at least I'm getting SOMETHING done in this area.)

Heikki--You're definitely right. No one will have fenders like these. That's because no one's RETARDED enough to make fenders like these.

Andrew--Every cut, every screw I drove in, I thought of you. (Not in a GAY way, mind you.) You were my inspiration--especially for hiding my screw-ups with trim and fish netting.

And JB--I'm actually supposed to tow this thing? It's been so freaking long since I started building it that I forgot!
