Benderboard/ bending plywood

Quick question:

In town, Hope Lumber has 4x8x1/4" benderboard, bendable plywood.
About $11 per sheet :D

Since my tear is 5' wide, I will have to cut the 4x8 sheet to 5' long, then not be bending it lengthwise , but crosswise. Will this be a probably , or does the 'bendable' bend both ways?

Thanks!
Julie

Chances are, that stuff will bend the way you don't WANT it to be bend. You have to specify which direction you want the bend, and 99% of the time, it's the other way that people need it--so that's all they'll carry.

But you never know--give them a call and ask if they have the other type. But it definitely doesn't bend both ways.

Julie,
The bendy ply I read about on line would only bend in one direction and you had to determine which way you wanted to bend it and purchase that one. In other words you could purchase it to bend either direction but not both. Did they tell you which way theirs bent?

Mark

It works great Julie.

The bending plywood works real well but as said above be careful when specifying your direction. There are aslo two different wood choices. There is both Birch and poplar.

Julie- Easiest way to ask when you go to the lumberyard is to ask for the ply to bend in an eight foot column. I found this avoids a lot of confusion.
