Hello folks,
Has anyone on the board built a Boxter? If so, what did you do in terms of the hatch cover and how you built it? I am trying to decide on the placement of the hatch hinge--I am building a 10 footer. Also, if you have built a Boxter, have you had any towing issues re: turbulence--fishtailing etc?

What is a Boxter? Is it just a square/rectangle camper? I''ve got a rectangular motorcycle trailer (Goldwing) with a drop down ramp and I almost considered converting it into a camper. It was not as unique as an TD or WeekEnder.
The other issue I had with it is that it is too tall and would not be fuel efficient to tow.

But if the trailer is in the shadow of the tow vehicle, as it mostly will be, the shape is pretty unimportant. Make sure the trailer bottom is not below the tow vehicle bottom.
And just to ruin everyone's day, 8" wheels will have less aero drag. Going to big wheels, particularly where they stick out into the airflow, will add significant drag.

For a long time I have thought of building a boxter as a tool/work trailer. It just seems like a natural combination for a small contractor.

That is one beautiful boxter! The hatch is interesting...
In theory, one advantage of a boxter hatch MIGHT be less chance of springback, but I may be wrong about that. The attraction for me is that you get a little bit more storage room...not a lot but a little <G>

Very interesting design. At first, I didn't like it, but I kept coming back to look at the pics and it kind of grew on me. The TinyTears site doesn't list dimensions. Does anyone know what the dimensions are for the plans from TinyTears?

I don't think that those are plans that Tiny Tears are selling. I think that they are full sized patterns. They do have a building manual but it is not trailer specific.
My pattern came from TT. It is what it is, a full sized pattern.

Why doesn't somebody build a Flash .... Boxy , but less draggy ...simple rear door ...with porch and awning ..
and can be painted like TD ...
