Cubby Window

I've just started building my Cubby and it's time to order the windows!

I'm not sure why but this has turned out to be a very difficult decision for me and i'm looking for some guidance.

I KNOW i want some with rounded corners and have narrowed it down to the either the ones on the lil bear website OR the ones on the tjtrailers site.

It looks like the one's on the lil bear site are slightly bigger (14" x 21") - which i like. BUT the scale drawing in the back of the plans seem to match the tjtrailers site (12x18) size.

Can i get away with the bigger size? Any reason to choose one over the other?

Thanks!

Lynn

..put as large a window as you can comfortably fit in the window...no cubbies here but we used the 15x24 from tjtrailers...we latter found out that those windows come from RedNeck Trailer SUpply and we could have gotten them 20 bucks cheaper from them...

Great info. Thanks, MadJack.

That leads me to the next question then...

What about buying one of those bigger ones and putting it vertical instead of horizontal? Does it still open/travel/keep the rain out correctly?

Oh, and when you say "as big as you can get away with" - how big should the wood edges be around the windows to keep the doors structurally stable? It looks like the scale drawing only has about 2.5" on the left side of the window and 3" on the smallest part (because of the curve) on the right side.

Lynn, 2/3"s should be sufficient to keep structural integrety in the door...as to mounting vertically...SteveH and others have done exactly that...you have to drill new drain holes in the bottom of the window frame since it comes only prepared for horizontal mounting...no big deal(if you buy 'em you will see what I mean...)

If you want to take a trip to Rosebud-Lott there is a camper manufacturer that has windows. I got mine there, they are the same ones Grant sells. BTW Rosebud-Lott is East of Temple, I had to look it up.
