Aluminum Skin and 5'X10' plywood in KY. ,In. Oh.

Hello I am new to the group and I live in Cincinnati ,Ohio.

I am looking for a supplier for 62" wide aluminum to cover the outside of
the trailer I plan to build . If it was within 200 miles I could pick it up.

I am also looking for 5'X10' plywood, all I can find locally is 4'X10'.

Any sugestions?

...welcome to the board...5x10 is extremely hard to find...5x5 much easier...check with local cabinet shops for both...wide Al is available from 18 wheeler trailer repair/manufacturers....don't forget as you build we will expect to have pictures...of you/wife/kids/pets/car/shop/yard/neighboras well as your build...you get the pic...we luv 'em 'round here ya know.....

Home Depot in Joplin, MO said they can order me 3/4 x 5 x 10.
I can't find 1/2 thick so I am going with 5x5.

I found 102" wide .040 aluminum at a tractor trailer repair facility 5 miles
from my house .COOL! The cost is $14.37 a linear foot. Is that a fair price?

I also found the 5'x5' baltic birch in 1/8 ,1/4, 1/2, 3/4 .

I will post some pictures as soon as I get started.

Don, I have heard of folks paying more and others paying less so it sounds about median, plus it is only 5mi away....

Don...price on the aluminum depends on where you are...I did get mine for less...but had 2 very long trips into getting it...so it all works out about the same...and check with some of the lumber speciality suppliers for marine grade ply, it's available in fir and mohogany...you'll have better luck in locating 5x10...again...depends on where you are....and a PS...let the aluminum supplier know that you are putting it on a "vintage trailer restoration project" they seemed to take a little better care of it when coiling it up knowing that the finish was more critical than on a 40'er....Doug

I think mine was $15.50/ft Plus a 100+mile trip to get there, I still have like 4ft left over for some reason.

I was able to get 5' x 10' x 3/4" plywood (sanded on one side) through a local construction material supplier (George Kempf in Philadelphia PA). I would look in the yellow pages and look up construction supplies. If you don't have any luck let me know and I'll try to find out where my supplier bought the plywood from. Maybe they can ship it directly to you?

I would like to know the information about G. Kempf in Phil. and/or supplier.
I am just over an hour from Phil. and could pick up the 10' ply....
I have found two sources for marine grade fir 20' ply but it is VERY pricey!

Check out Instant Metals in Noblesville, IN for the aluminum. Pricing seemed fair on the quote I got and the reply quickly... No promises beyond that though, as that is as far as I got.
