Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

me and the wife really like the look of the aluminum trailers and i know that everyone gets different deals on materials. but im building a 4'x10'x 5' wide t.d. and we were hoping to get an average figure on how much this will cost to wrap in aluminum vs. just painting it. any info will be apreciated. and also any things or problems you would suggest we look out for in prepping for this phase in our project would help. thank you.

Hi! I did mine in .040 mill finish the 4x10 sheets cost me $52.15 per sheet and the 5x10 cost $68.50 per sheet. that is probably a low price i know a person that works at a local sheet metal shop he ordered it for me at 10% above cost. I did find out when i glued the first side on using contact cement every flaw in plywood could be seen, i did not glue the other side or top.

I bought aluminum in El Paso, Texas last week from Trident, they have locations around the country, I got .032 4x10 sheets for $38.00 each plus tax. You have to also consider what kind of TRIM you want on your tear. There is alot of variety of trim you can get, that cost adds up fast also.

Bronco, Try http://www.interstatemetals.com/ out in Milwaukie. I know of one builder who used them. They can even seam sheets together that looks good.

Hi,no i couldn't get it any longer than 10' but 2 sheets of 10'worked good for me it took 19' 9" to wrap mine i cut one sheet to cover hatch then used the rest of that sheet to do the front the full sheet on roof covered overlapped splice with alum. trim.
