I sincerely appreciate everybody that has been watching my Jewel Box progress and letting me know , and encouraging me! I'm deeply indebted to my helpful neighbor Phil who started on the electrical this week (it's above my head) and then not only gave me a free big piece of Formica laminate, but took the two galley counters and put the facing and the tops on there for me!!!

Okay, it's cheap and simple, can you even guess what this fuse box is?
hahaha...

FORMICA!!!! I was going to do red counters like Rickxr2 but then Phil did a countertop job for someone and had this neutral color and a big piece leftover so when he offered it to me for FREE, I loved it !! hahaha
And since I'm changing the exterior color, the red wouldn't really work anyway.

They're not attached in yet but still look good!

It's gettin' there.....

Julie,

My guess the box is a pencil case or generic little plastic box from the dollar store, Wal-Mart, etc. Speaker wire? Good idea, didn't think of that.

The build, it really is looking good, the counters looking great! Where you installing the AC again? In the galley wall?

Hey Julie,

The formica looks great!

I think that little plastic box will make a fine electric box.

Keep it up!!

Julie,
I’m glad I am not the only one that is using 12ga speaker wire for power wiring.
I like the idea for the plastic pencil box for protection for the power connection and fuse block.
Great Work

DingDingDing!!! Earl --- you're a winner! Well, everyone's a winner to me!

Yes, when me & Phil were at HD , looking at what to use for the fuse box (the AC power is separate from this) Me , being the chick that I am, I started brainstorming and thought of some storage type box, something cheap, light... then thought of those boxes that hold beads or cross stitch thread.... then remembered my kids had used these "pencil boxes" but they are plastic with a clip closure. Sure enough, came home and found I still had too of them! I started to use the one with the purple top, then decided the green was better... hahah Miriam, yes colorful!!

Earl, that Air Cond is just sitting there for now. That's actually where my ice chest will be. The air cond will be on the cabin shelf, on the passenger side.

Today's is a light day.. hahah!!! Was out back alllllldaaaayyy yesterday burning limbs so worn out this a.m. But I'll get back out there this afternoon, evening and hopefully get the interior skins ON!!! WOOHOOO

Thanks everybody !!! julie

Like the Lil engine say's "Yes I can, Yes I can" and you are!!!

I think a great advantage of you, Aunti M and other women here on the board is you research and research and research and ask loads of questions, questions that help the men learn because as you know we don't ask directions untill it is toooooooo late!!! LOL

I look forward to your progress reports and one thing in particular is your air cond. install - PLEASE!!! (as MadJack say's) lots of pics PLEASE!!!

Actually Julie, I want to thank you!!!!!

After having as many set backs as I have had in the past 6 months, seeing your determination in getting yours done has kept my dream going.

And it shows what a little patience and some hard work can accomplish.

Oh, and by the way. I have one sidewall done now. But my metal for the frame is still sitting in the garage.
