What follows is a post I made on the Southeast board this morning, I'd like for you guys to see it as well. I appreciate all of the help and info stolen from you.

How many of you have done this? I left a message under the Al on the plywood of my door with info I thought someone in the future would find interesting. I listed names of folks involved in the build, the time frame it was built in, the alloy of the Al (not quiet sure why on that one) etc.

I was thinking of the restores I have seen on this page and it struck me that not only did I now have a camper to enjoy but, I have put another TD in the world to be used, abused, enjoyed and maybe even restored one day long after I'm gone.... that made me smile

Enjoy your work folks its pretty cool.

Happy camping
Mc

Like a time capsule on a piece of paper. I love this idea. I already know mine will start with "This trailer was built by a dain bramaged . . ."

I'm not leaving ANY messages in mine.

I'm just going to haunt it after I'm dead.

"I'm not JOKING, Sam! I saw this ghostly image of a short Jew with an eye patch, yarmulka, hooked hand, and he kept eerily groaning...

"I gotta get her done for Minden. I gotta get her done for Minden. I gotta get her done for..."

I like Ira's idea, but why not combine the 2? Leave a note saying that this tear to be inhabited by the builder's spirit upon his demise. It would make for a great campfire ghost story should it ever be found!

We live in an old house. All the rooms that had wallpaper had notes from the wallpaperer. When he was there, his name and how many rolls he used. Kind of interesting. I like the idea!

Hey good idea and just in time for us in the midst of building! I will put a note in a couple of different places.

The Kuffel plans give a good idea too, and I'm going to do that.
To take a shiny new penny (or maybe one of those state quarters) dated the year you built your teardrop and countersink it into someplace on the interior of your trailer. Kind of a "timepiece" ...

Good idea about the builder's notes and time stamping as Julie said.
I think I will do the same thing also during my build.
I wish I had though of it eariler.
I'm not to far along not to incorporate this into my build. I found he builders notes when remodling my house several years ago and did the same besides his notes of what I changed and when it was done.
 :applause:
Good record keeping. :D
and history of the build.
