Sending PMs

Postby Capebuild » Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:46 am

I'm having an issue with sending PMs. Actually I've only tried sending a PM twice, but I see them both just sit in my outbox. Is there something I need to do that will actually "send" the PM?
I compose a PM hit submit and it seems to just stay in the Outbox.... does not go to the Sent folder.

Thanks for the help.

That is by design.

The sent PM does sit in the sender's Outbox until the recipient opens it. Then it moves to the Sent box. That allows editing plus you know if the PM was ever opened. It is also possible for the sender to delete the PM when it is still resting in the Outbox.

Thanks for explaining that, MtnDon.

I had sent one PM a while back. This was to one of the site administrators inquiring about donating. That PM is still sitting in my Outbox. So now I can assume the recipient just didn't open it. I just sent 2 more PMs to 2 different members. If I see the PM(s) made it to the Sent box... I'll assume they received the PM and that will make your explanation proof in the pudding :)

I'm not sure if the email notification is working so when somebody sends a PM the recipient gets an email so they know to look. I'll send you a PM and lets see if you get an email notice.

I got your PM John.

To donate hit the "Donate" link up above in the blue section. This takes you to Mike's original note. Click on a "Donate" link in his text. It takes you right to paypal. At least that's how I do it. Mike usually responds. Sometimes it takes weeks, sometimes days. But he gets it.

thanks, TimC.

Does anyone know the different donating membership designations? I see there are "donating member" , "gold member", "platinum member", etc..... I'm assuming this correlates to the monetary amount of one's donation... is there a listing somewhere that lays out these different designations?

thanks

That's a good question. Ive been a member since 2015 and have given a small donation almost each year. Each time I've given my designation has changed. It's kind of an acknowledgement of my support. It's is a cool way to see yourself making a contribution. What the levels mean isn't clear to me. I give once and my designation changes. I see folks with all kinds of designations that I have not yet received. It adds a little motivation to keep giving, though not required.

The bottom line is I have gained so much from other member's experience. The amount given is just a small token of appreciation.
