Finishing up the Lil Diner

Postby mikeschn » Thu Jun 05, 2008 8:32 am

At the request of Cliff (and others) I've scratched off an item that's been on my to-do list for a couple years now. :o

I've created an album of the Lil Diner photos since I brought it home from NY.

You can see the photos here,
http://www.mikenchell.com/Lil_Diner_2_Photo_Album/

or in the Hall of Fame!

Hi Mike,
The Lil Diner is just beautiful. I got only one question to ask...when you were making the frame out of 3/4 ply did you cut it out of one piece or was it spliced?

Thanks

Mike - The Lil' Diner is one of my favorite designs. I know one of the goals was for it to be comparatively lightweight for its size. Did you ever have it weighed?

Thanks, Tom

Thanks Kerry for the link. I could have sworn I saw Mike holding a frame made out of 3/4 ply somewhere on here...maybe it wasn't the Lil Diner maybe it was something else. :? Sorry for the hijack.

Oh, a frame made out of 3/4" plywood... I think I know what you are talking about... that was a challenge frame...
We're you thinking about this one

OOPPS my bad, I should have said "Sidewall Frame". I know I saw a pic of Mike and Steve holding a Sidewall Frame but where I saw it I don't know.

Sorry for the confusion.

:applause: WOW! That thing is beautiful! And with all the creature comforts of home, I bet you could stay out for a while in that tear. Excelent design and craftsmanship. Well done.
I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it left.

Thanks, Mike! Looking at your work for me is like a carpenter looking at Frank Lloyd Wright's designs! I love 'em!

Mike,

Thanks! Photos are always welcome.

Just a friendly reminder: I couldn't find a link to this (new) photo album on the Little Diner page on your main web site. Remember to include it there for new members (and non-members).

Yea, I sold it. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't. That was one pretty trailer. Works of art you should always keep! Cliff, Steve Frederick built that for me, that's why I can call it a work of art!!!

Mike...

P.s. I'll add that to my main page! Thanks for pointing that out!
