The walls are 1200mm at the highest point (it slopes down slightly at the front section), with the roof on and ceiling in I should have 1195mm which is 47"

I thought about a dropped floor but I was worried about it getting damaged when offroad and since I will mostly justt be sleeping in it there was no real advantage. We normally camp with others so I dont plan to lock myself in the trailer even with bad weather, I'll be under the awning drinking beer :)

Anyway, my insulation has arrived so I hope to get the walls finished this weekend and some more framing for cupboards etc in and possibly the ceiling in as well :)

Cheers

Got the insulation in one wall and the inner skin on, I think I'll go to the beach tomorrow though so that might be it for the weekend :)

Also got a visit from the neighbors dad, apparently he saw me bring the steel home to make the trailer and had been watching me build ever since when he is around. He just had to know what it was I was building so came over for a chat :)

It's never as quick as you originally thought :( Work (the money earning kind) keeps getting in the way of trailer building ;)

Did get a second wall insulated and am now storing the ply on the roof to save some space in the garage and to give me a feel for interior space. I like it :)

Also noticed how much strength the ply and insulation add, originally the door frame would flex slightly at the joins in the wood when pushed but with the insulation in and the inner skin on the trailer will move before the frame flexes. As soon as the second wall skin goes on and the bulkhead is skinned (a much easier one to do) I can finish the roof spares and start closing her up :) Cant wait.

I don't know if you mentioned this and I missed it but. Is that a JEEP ventilating windshield you are using for the front window?

No, it's from a wrecked caravan, a tree fell on it. You may have seen the images of the tanker washed on to a beach here in Australia a few months ago now (6 maybe) well this caravan was a victim of the same storms. I got the window for $6 from ebay :)

Ok thats cool. I was going to say. if it is Jeepers over here in the states would give their left arm for one of those windshieldframes.

Did a little more :) Got the kids to help, little hands and less concerned about getting gluey ;)

And with the tow vehicle (it's in there to get a new transfercase after I trashed the current one)

Should look nice when it's lacquered etc.

Window completely framed out ready for the skins

Nice looking trailer. Nice XJ too, was it the 231 xfer case, or the 242? (Legend has it the 242 is way stronger)

I like your design for the trailer.

The 242 :( Not the cheapest to replace here in Australia. I do plan on building up the old one though using some 242HD parts (Hummer version of the 242) which should help :)

Isn't the 242HD in the Rubicon also?

But I might be wrong. I am not up on the modern Jeep stuff that much.

Nup, the Rubicon is the 241 Rock Trac transfer case, we never even got the Rubicon here in Aus until the current JK so no chance of getting one of them :(
