That Plumeria flower fabric is beautiful.
Gonna make a shirt to match the trailer? 8)

Doug,

:applause: Great design and color scheme. Is this the laminate you are considering using?

Yup...I'm hoping that when I see the real colors of the actual formica that it works....dunno yet. It's looking pretty green. Found some great retro modernist handles in chrome. With a fabric store full of stuff, not a big deal to change up fabrics. Doug

Doug,
Awesome profile and I really like the graphics choppy like that instead of curved like art deco would be... Sure looks fiftyish to me!!! :applause:

Thanks Dean....thing is, it will develop as it goes along. The graphics are way off right now. I just cooked this up spur of the moment based on a lot of the trailers that I've seen from the era. I'd like to not copy any previously built trailers paint scheme. Whatever I do, the teal or green color will be striped out with a contrasting color to separate it from the white. I'm maybe thinking of 2 toning the teal with inter-twining features, but that's more dough on the paint.

The color white is still also up for grabs...probably more like the Wimbledon white that Ford has used forever, not a real polar white thing. Once I get the wood sides up, I'll start doing some real serious drawing and spray painting on them for the look I want prior to applying the exterior skin. Doug

PS Patty....I'm counting on you to come up and polish aluminum....I know for a fact that you have it down! Hope you guys can come up for some of the progress.

Here's a sample of the drawer knob I'm considering, 1.5" sq. I think. They are available in right and left handed versions as well as 3" high for cabinet doors, but narrower, both R and L. It's in a polished chrome, high tech late 50's mid 60's retro modern. I think it will look great over some aqua boomerang formica and chrome hinges. That cut out hole will accent the background. Doug,
I like your design for your new trailer! I look forward to following the build.

It will be fun to see how all the details come together too as your trailers are always a complete package with attention paid to the smallest details.

Very nice -- I REALLY like the standies and especially the Scotties, which you can definitely see the influence, which is a good thing. I looking forward to the build -- you're an artist! :applause:

I just created a "Nomad" file in my computer for your build progress pictures. I can't wait to see this one come to life. I'm sure it will be another masterpiece.

Doug,

I'm really starting to think that we need to install a webcam in your garage so we can watch the progress of your trailer builds and restoration of vintage camping gear. It might seem to be a bit vicarious or voyeuristic, but it would be great fun to watch.

It would be a bit ironic when the majority of webcams are being used for "adult entertainment" and we're all here watching Doug build a trailer.

I'd contribute some $$ for the webcam.....

Doug,

Looks cool. Could you cover the wheel wells with a removable cover so as to be able to carry the graphics and make the bottom line match the top line.
kind of like those old hot rods...I think they were Buicks
If you made both sides solid you could do the graphics and then just cut out the wheel well to make the cover

Just a thought
