Labor day was a productive day. This sure has been a lot of fun building!

Cabinet doors made by my father in law. He sure does good work.

The power panel was built today. The face has been cut out for various switches, GFCI outlet, 15 amp shore power breaker, 20 vdc DVM to monitor trailer Battery Voltage, 30 Amp DC ammeter to monitor current draw off trailer battery, Cigarette lighter power plug.

I got the power panel hardware installed now. I get into this stuff since I am a phone man.

The wiring job may be a little bit of an overkill, but it is something I enjoy. I used to put electronic panels in oil well logging trucks at Seismograph Service Corp. it kind of brings back memories 28 years ago.
I am planing to go to Grand Lake in with 17 other TD's. I would like to come to Louisiana for the camp out but not sure if I could make it yet.

Jplock...doesn't matter if it is or if it isn't overkill...like you said, it's what you enjoy....and that is all that matters...the beauty of these projects is that everyone gets to show off what their strengths/ interests are....have fun...and we'll see you camping... doug

And we certainly would never use words like 'obsessive'. Oh no, not us. And we would like to see a picture of the back of your panel after you've wired it, just to make sure you're not letting your standards slip because it's 'only' a trailer....

My boss in a boatyard had a Riva powerboat and the wiring behind the dash was a sight to see. Here is a pic from a US restoration of a Riva - you can clearly see the owners' ghastly additions!

This evening the power panel connections has begun. The panel is temporarily hung on the cabinet facing with C clamps. The flouresent trouble light gives plenty of lighting. I did manage to get all the temporary signal lights/trailer chassis wiring reconnected.

The main thing is to have fun building it, and even more fun using it. That I have already got to do with mine.

I thought of lacing it, but it is less trouble with tie wraps. Lacing is pretty though.

I must say I am impressed. every time I see a new build go up it make me realize that there are so many ways these things can be made and every one is filled with new ideas and helps us improve ours done or not.

  GOOD JOB
