The tongue box is recovering from it's disaster!

Tongue box trial fitted and is comming along! Kinda looks like a Camp Inn minus the Aluminum.

Also the cabinet doors got hung today and varnished.

I noticed something funny today. When the side door is opened the suction inside the trailer makes the cabinet doors swing open and then close! I guess some latches are needed.

Or a vent of some size to minimize the pressure build up.

Was the TD in the sun? The heat will increase the pressure inside.
Its just the opposite with cold. It'll create a vacuum that you won't be able to open the doors.

I do plan on putting a cabin vent. This is basically what I saw on a Camp Inn Trailer at the Berniece State Park Camp out a couple weeks ago.

Hi Phil,
I like the tongue box, really great. I don't see the detail on the black frame well. Your frame looks altered, or is that just the box?

I did not change the frame, the picture just turned out dark.

Today the tongue box got the finish coat of paint. The galley area got its first coat of spar ureathane varnish. Also a dounut spare tire was found. Got to trial fit it, and it will work. It sure will look funny all the way to the tire shop! (lopp sided!)

The final coat of paint is on the tongue box. I guess the dreaded hole will have to be cut in a perfectly good roof to install this box. Hope to do it without any leaks.

Well the tongue box attatchment will be done by this week end!

The tounge box entrance hole is cut I am committed to doing this now. I sure hope it don't leak! All the bolt and screw holes are pre-drilled. A bead of panel adhesive will go around the mounting flange, and then a bead of 50 year calking will go around the outside joint. To finish the sealing job.

Insulated to NASA Specifications...HA! Is this a shuttle part or TD part? Also a 110 Volt outlet box is hung. I think the charger will be mounted in the tongue box above the battery compartment.

The tongue box got permenantly attached this evening with clamps, panel adhesive, screws, and bolts. It fit the shape of the TD real good. I think it will be ready for any rain at the Louisiana Camp Out. I have a spot for the battery charger above the battery compartment.

Today I got the battery installed in the battery compartment, and made a vent like in the above drawing. It worked great and Thanks! (to Camp-Inn Trailers for giving me their idea as seen on a friends Camp Inn Trailer).
